Program Overview
Health care in BC is a delicate web of professionals working together for the betterment of everyone. Pharmacy technicians provide a critical function within this network. In BC, Pharmacy Technicians are involved in compounding, dispensing, and receiving prescriptions as well as educating patients.
In this program, students will learn about; the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities, patient centered care, safe and effective product distribution, practice setting, health promotion, application of knowledge and research, communications skills, intra and inter-professional collaboration and levels of quality and safety expected by a licensed pharmacy technician.

Prior to successful admission into this program, applicants need to demonstrate:
- Successful completion of Grade 12 or Mature Student Status (19 years of age or more)
- English 12 with a grade of C or higher (or equivalent)
- Math 11 with a grade of C or higher (or equivalent)
- Biology 12 with a grade of C or higher (or equivalent)
- Chemistry 12 with a grade of C or higher (or equivalent)

Prior to employment as a Pharmacy Technician in the province of BC, graduates must register with the College of Pharmacists of BC (https://www.bcpharmacists.org/pt-registration).
