As a Medical Office Assistant, you will be the backbone of healthcare administration in doctors’ offices, walk-in clinics, specialist practices, and medical centers across British Columbia. You’ll manage patient records, coordinate appointments, handle medical billing and insurance claims, and ensure smooth clinic operations while providing compassionate patient care.

Our MOA program equips graduates with industry-recognized skills in medical terminology, electronic health records, medical billing, and clinical procedures.
For some, this will be a stable, rewarding healthcare career. Others may advance to Medical Office Manager, Health Information Coordinator, or pursue further education in Health Services Administration or Nursing. Your MOA certificate is your entry point into Canada’s growing healthcare sector.

To enroll in the Medical Office Assistant Course, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Grade 12 or Mature Student Status (19 years of age or more).
To demonstrate language proficiency, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:
Option 1: English 10 with a minimum grade of “C” or higher. Secondary Education Evidence that three years of full-time secondary education (Grades 8-12) have been successfully completed in English in a country where English is one of the
principal languages. This includes successful completion of a BC Adult Graduation program.
Option 2: Post-Secondary Education Evidence that two years of full-time postsecondary education have been completed in English at an accredited institution in a country where the language of instruction is one of the principal languages.
Language development (ELL) courses cannot be included.
Option 3: Standardized Language Test Achievement of minimum scores on a recognized standardized language test. Test results should be valid at the time of enrollment.
