Program Overview

The Certificate in Bookkeeping & Accounting program is designed to introduce the student to bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting. They will acquire basic bookkeeping skills and be able to understand financial statements. Students will become familiar with bookkeeping and accounting techniques, various taxation forms, keeping track of expenses, and analyzing various financial statements.

Enable yourself to work in virtually any industry imaginable. Accounting and Payroll personnel are crucial to almost every company in Canada. The Certificate in Book Keeping and Accounting is a 6 month (23 weeks) program that introduces students to book keeping, accounting, and payroll. Online class delivery is also available. As a graduate you leave with the full knowledge of the industry tools, and the practical experience.

Program Details

480 hours / 5.6 months / 23 weeks

Grade 12 or Mature Student Status (19 years of age or more).  Students will need to submit proof of English Language Competency by any one of the following options:

Domestic Students:

  • Grade 10 English
  • English Language Proficiency Assessment Test conducted by the College

International Students:

  • IELTS: 5.5 or
  • TOEFL (paper): 550 or
  • TOEFL (CBT): 210 or
  • TOEFL (IBT): 79 or
  • Canadian Language Benchmark Test (CLB): 6
  • PTE Academic: 50 or
  • Cambridge: CAE or
  • Proof of any other English Language Assessment Test with an Equivalent Score
  • Has earned a Grade 12 graduation diploma from in a system in which English is the official language, or
  • Successfully completed a pre-Intermediate certificate from a Language Canada accredited school or
  • Successful completion of a three-credit academic English Course OR Equivalent from a Canadian accredited post-secondary institution with a minimum grade of C
  • Successfully complete the College’s English language proficiency assessment, or
  • Successful completion of the 24-week ESL program at the College
